ABEOKUTA: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Chief Tunde Oladunjoye, has advised the just inaugurated cabinet members of Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state to always accord all due respect and honour to the person and office of Chairman of the Council.
Aremo Oladunjoye, a former elected chairman of the Council, gave the advice on Monday in a statement congratulating the cabinet members on their successful inauguration, even as he also wished them a positively impactful period of stewardships.
The Onigegewura Akile Ijebu equally charged them not to allow whatever previous relationship or familiarity with the Council Chairman before now to tempt them into engaging in any contemptible conduct, pointing out that the LG boss remains their team leader and the head of the administration.
He stated: “I write to congratulate all the local government cabinet members who were inaugurated earlier today?
“I wish you a successful tenure of office. May your era be marked by positive accomplishment along with your Chairman and Vice Chairman.
“Let me remind you, for the avoidance of doubt, that the Chairman of the Council remains the number one citizen of the local government, the boss and the only person with the green pen in the Council. Please accord all due respect to his person and to his office.
“Regardless of your former relationship with him, age, political experience or even knowing him when he was growing up, the fact is that he remains the boss, team leader and the head of the administration.
“Again, I wish you the very best today and always.”
