Old pupils of Saint Barnabas Primary School, Okun – Owa in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State has built modern School Hall and donated same to the Alma Mater.
The new hall has capacity to accommodate 500 people comfortably and is expected to provide the pupils the opportunity of having their literary and debating activities, drama, examination, morning assemblies and other social activities at their level.
It is expected to be inaugurated on Tuesday by governor Dapo Abiodun.
In a statement by the President of the Old Pupils Association of the school, Chief Sina Ogunbambo, the hall was built by 14 pupils, including their friends, to support the efforts of the State Government in its drive to continually provide quality education and infrastructure in Ogun State.
“Some of us made a joint effort to give back to the Government and society that made us enjoy good elementary education, the foundation that has produced eminent personalities who are now movers and shakers of the society.
” The vogue is for old students of secondary schools to give back to the society through philanthropic gestures but we want to change that story and begin from the cradle, the foundation,” he stated.
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB in Ogun State, Dr Femi Majekodunmi, the Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Honourable Shuaib Ladejobi, other top Government officials, Royal Fathers, community leaders and the Clergy are expected at the occasion.
