The Ogun State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), is set to host a two-day workshop for media and public relations professionals as well as communication managers in various organisations across the state.
Themed, “Navigating the Digital Storm: Mastering Crisis Communication and Reputation Management,” the highly intensive workshop will take place from Thursday, 7th to Friday, 8th August, 2025 at the Event Towers, Kuto, Abeokuta.
A press release signed by the Chairperson, Sub-Committee on Sensitisation and Enlightenment, Mrs. Taiwo Akintomide, disclosed that the event will be declared open on Thursday by the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.
According to her, the first-of-its-kind workshop is aimed at equipping participants with practical skills and effective strategies for managing crisis communication and safeguarding organisational reputation in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Akintomide added that the workshop will feature keynote address, technical sessions led by renowned industry experts and group activities by participants, among others.
The resource perons scheduled to make presentations at the workshop include Mr. Tope Adaramola, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB); Mrs. Thelma Okoh, Principal Consultant, Winstarbel Communications Limited; Mr. Segun McMedal, Lead Partner, Upticomm Marketing Company.
Others are Mr. Bolaji Abimbola, Managing Director, Integrated Indigo Limited; Abdullahi Maiwada, National Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Customs Service; and Dr. Toyin Onayinka, Department of Mass Communication, Federal University of Oye-Ekiti.
“We believe this workshop will be of immense benefit to various organisations and institutions and also strengthen their team’s ability to handle communication challenges as well as manage reputation in an increasingly complex digital environment,” Akintomide declared.
“Ogun NIPR, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, is committed to promoting professionalism and excellence in public relations and wishes to use this workshop to bring together professionals and experts to share knowledge, experiences and best practices in crisis communication and reputation management,” she stressed.
The Sub-Committee Chairman further noted that participants will benefit from expert insights and networking opportunities that the two-day workshop offers.
The event, she stated, will be declared closed on Friday by the Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Ms. Olubukunola Onabanjo, while the participants will be awarded certificates.
Akintomide, who assured that all arrangements have been made to ensure a successful workshop, enjoined those still willing to register to do so latest Wednesday, 6th August, 2025.
