A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has called on Nigerians to put aside all political differences, party affiliations and come together to work for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Chief Amuzu also advised Nigerians to remain committed to democratic values and principles to ensure the country’s continued growth and prosperity.
The PDP stalwart and House of Representatives candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency in the 2023 National Assembly election, gave this advice in a statement on Tuesday ahead this year’s Democracy Day.
He said, though the times are hard, citizens must not give up but continue to hold their representatives accountable and always ask questions.
He said, “we must strive to strengthen our institutions and uphold democracy as a good base of government.
Chief Amuzu who acknowledged the struggles and sacrifices of June 12 martyrs, including Chief MKO Abiola, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, Alfred Rewane among many other patriots who gave us democracy, urged Nigerians to honour this legacy by promoting unity, justice and equality for all citizens.
He emphasized the importance of putting aside political differences and work together for the betterment of the Country.
Chief Amuzu urged every citizen to remain in unity and be committed to democratic values and principles which would enhance the country’s common good.
He also encouraged Nigerians to celebrate the Nation’s diversity and foster a spirit of inclusivity while striving for a brighter future for themselves and generations to come.
