Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has finally spoken candidly about her 2023 divorce from fellow actor Patrick Doyle, offering a blunt perspective on privacy, public curiosity, and personal growth.
Appearing on The Morayo Show, the veteran actress addressed why both she and her ex-husband chose to remain silent when news of their separation broke.
Host Morayo Afolabi-Brown pointed out that the public heard little to nothing from either party at the time, asking what lessons the experience had taught Doyle.
In her response, Ireti made it clear that the decision to stay quiet was deliberate.
“First of all, you didn’t hear anything because it was none of your business,” she said firmly.
She explained that while marriage often comes with public celebration, its challenges and eventual breakdown are deeply personal matters.
According to her, the only people deserving of any explanation are the close circle of family and friends who were part of the union from the beginning.
“Two people come together and decide to get married… sadly or unfortunately, something goes wrong and you can no longer continue life’s journey together,” she added.
Doyle also dismissed the idea that the wider public is entitled to details about such private experiences.
“You see this larger audience… they don’t really care,” she said, underscoring her stance on maintaining boundaries despite life in the spotlight.
Her remarks have since sparked conversations online about celebrity privacy, with many praising her for setting firm boundaries in an era of intense public scrutiny.
