Barely a month after a Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey Effiong popularly called Hilda Baci had set a new world record high of 100 hours cook-a-thon, the authority of Guinness World Records on Tuesday named her the new “Record Holder For the Longest Cooking Marathon.”
It is now official. Hilda Baci holds the new World record in marathon cooking.
The organisation announced this on his official Twitter handle.
“After reviewing all the footage, we’re delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual) 💫

The Daily Crucible reports the latest Guinness World Record holder broke the record of 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds earlier set by Chef Lata Tondon in Rewa, India, in 2019.
Hilda Baci hit her 100 hours mark on May 15.
Hilda was initially scheduled to stop at 4 pm Nigerian Time culminating into her former 96-hour target but stopped at 8pm after an extension of four hours.
Supportive Nigerians at the cook-a-thon competition, which took place at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, saw her through the event which commenced on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
