Former governor Ibikunle Amosun has been listed for conferment of Excellence Award on December 16 by the Agura of Gbaguraland in Ogun State, Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre, the Jamolu II in conjunction with his people to mark this year edition Gbagura Day.
The Award of Excellence will be bestowed on Senator Amosun in recognition of his excellence performance in various areas of human endeavours at the ceremony where governor Dapo Abiodun, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II and Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo are expected to grace the occasion.
Others expected at the yearly event are the Osile of Oke – Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, Olofa of Ofa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi among others.
Also, the Excellence Awards will go to His Excellency Prince Bola Ajibola, a retired Jurist at the World Court in Hague, and Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, the Chief Imam of Gbagura and immediate Provost of the Post Graduate College at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
The chairman of the Main organising committee for Gbagura Day, Chief Semiu Oganla, who disclosed this while briefing the Press at the Afin Agura, Oke-Iddo, Abeokuta, said the celebration tagged ” Festival of Sustainability,” will also feature Health Talk and Free Healthcare today, December 14 while Special Public Lecture tagged, “The Imperatives of JAMB in Tertiary Education in Nigeria’, will be delivered by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) same today at Abeokuta Club in Abeokuta, the state capital.
