As part of strategic moves towards attracting more foreign direct Investment to Nigeria, particularly Ogun State from Canada, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, has advised Nigerians living abroad to always do quality background checks first using modern Information Technology Communication tools before investing their hard-earned money in real estate back home.
He said such background checks will save them from heart aches later.
Adeyemo, who is currently in Canada for a week – long high net – worth meeting with Nigerians domiciled in Manitoba and Ontario, gave the advice during his interactions with members of the Ajorosun Union, Manitoba.
The ‘poster boy’ of real estate in Nigeria’s multi – trillion naira real estate sector, identified with the Ajorosun Union members who are predominantly Nigerians of Ibadan extraction, revealing to them that he indeed shares the same Ajorosun bloodline with them, having his origin cut from Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria.
He, however, gladly shared the success story of his real estate business after an initial career in journalism, even as he assured the kinsmen that the real estate sector back home in Nigeria remains one of the most viable investments Nigerians in the diaspora can explore and tap into it for profitability.
He emphasized that integrity, consistency, quality delivery, assured high ROI for investors, infrastructure development and innovative value additions to real estate businesses have become the hallmarks of the Pelican Valley estate brand – where unusual homes happen!
The multiple – award winning real estate entrepreneur, however, advised diaspora investors to also deploy technologies to do verify any property projected to them as well as any real estate agent before doing any business with such agents.
According to him, there are many unscrupulous elements with questionable c records but still parade themselves as real estate agents or practitioners.
“Before you ever attempt to pump your hard-earned money into any real estate offerings from Nigeria, endeavour to do your independent, technology-enhanced background checks not only on the real estate brand you are dealing with but ensure you check the profile of the proprietor of the real estate company,” he said.
He emphasized that Customer reviews about a real estate brand go a long way to show their track records and the degree of reliability of investors’ Returns on Investment (ROI).
The President of Ajorosun Union, Manitoba, Canada commended Ambassador Adeyemo for his giant strides of Pelican Valley Estate back in Nigeria, assuring that the Union and its members will patronise the brand.
He appealed to the real estate entrepreneur to sustain both the tempo and standards of excellence and integrity that have become synonymous with his brand over the years.
