Social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan, on Monday, resolved not to speak further on the allegations by Idris Okuneye ‘Bobrisky.’
Otse who was appalled that Idris Okuneye also known as Bobrisky did not appear in person but rather sent a lawyer to represent him at the House of Representatives probing the Bobrisky saga.
However, officials of the EFCC and the NCoS were present as the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions commenced investigation into the allegations of bribery and corruption levelled against officials of the anti-graft agency and the prison service.
But the lawmakers countered the Otse’s submission, moved a motion compelling him to make an address on the subject matter of the voice recording which he made public.
Idris Okuneye who was convicted and jailed in April this year, had claimed that officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) collected the sum of N15m from him before he could be allowed to serve his six month jail term at VIP Section of the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre, Lagos state.
While addressing the House Committee, VeryDarkMan said, “I don’t know why I will be here and the person who made these allegations is not here.
“Bobrisky said in the voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe the godfather told him not to come. He has disrespected this committee by not coming here.
“You are already threatening me with arrest. If you detain me, I will stay in the cell.
“If Bobrisky is not here, I will not say anything. If I say anything, let me die.”
The Daily Crucible reports that House of Representatives last Friday summoned the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede; Very Dark Man; Bobrisky, over allegations of bribery involving the anti-graft agency and NCS.
