As Muslims the world over get set to celebrate the festival of Eid-el-Kabir, and in line with his tradition over the years as a representative, Senator Solomon Adeola representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the Senate, has joined his constituents and others elsewhere in the celebration of the joyous occasion with the distribution of massive gifts and cash to them.
Among the items distributed to various traditional rulers, community leaders, Islamic clerics and Muslim religious groups, political party leaders, constituents and others across Ogun West and beyond, are 9,000 bags of 50 kilogramme rice, 40 cows and 250 rams as well as various sums of money through cash transfers to ensure a memorable celebration.
Pursuant of this year’s celebration, Senator Adeola has also sponsored 190 Muslims to the Holy Pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in a move to encourage Islamic faithful to fulpfil the important religious obligation, according to a release by Chief Kayode Odunaro, his media adviser.
Senator Adeola while felicitating with Muslim said the gestures were part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in ensuring food security in addition to Nigerians joyfully celebrating a cardinal aspect of their religious faith.
“I wish all Muslims a joyful celebration of Eid-el-Kabir. This is in line with my tradition of ensuring that as many as possible enjoy the celebration of religious festivals as a way of strengthening their faith and ensuring adherence to religious principle. In addition, this gesture is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of our President, in ensuring food security among the populace over time” he stated.
