•Suspect Theophilus Osazuwa
The Edo State Police has arrested 35 – year – old Theophilus Osazuwa of Ogbeson Quarters off Benin-Agbor road, Benin-city for the alleged mùrder of his four years old son named Testimony Osazuwa.
The suspect was said to have arrived his home on Tuesday, December 24 at about 1230hrs, went wild screaming ‘Holy Ghost fire,’ reached for the boy and slammed him to the wall.
Although, the child was rescued and rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Moses Joel Yamu, Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, preliminary investigation revealed that the young man who is known for the consumption of illicit (colos, ice etc) substances, allegedly acted under the influence of the illicit drugs.
Yamu who made this known in a release on Wednesday, quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP, Umoru P. Ozigi, as warning the public especially youths, against the dangers of consuming illicit substances and drugs that may be detrimental to their health, lives and that of the people around them.
