The Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, has emphasized the importance of a transparent selection process in the contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government.
Speaking at a leadership meeting on Monday, Hon. Adeleye commended the seven aspirants present for their courage, especially given the challenges faced by their party in the face of opposition.
The meeting, chaired by Hon. Robert Adenaike, popularly known as Oloolu, marked a crucial step towards the upcoming local government elections in the State.
The aspirants, all vying for the position of Executive Chairman, showcased their commitment to the development and progress of Odogbolu Local Government.
Hon. Adeleye urged ward leaders to replicate the spirit of openness and fairness in their respective areas to ensure the party puts forth the strongest candidates.
He advised the aspirants to view the contest not as a battle but as an opportunity to contribute to the party’s success.
The aspirants include Alh. Hon. Sikiru Okeowo, Alhaji Olaposi Rabiu, Barr. Gbenga Adeiye, Alhaji Abdul-Rasaq Arowosegbe (AROCOOL), Mr. Bayo Olakunle Odunuga, Hon. Chief Yusuf Olatunji Olusanya, and Mrs. Adenuga Enitan.
The meeting which was attended by Prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP including Chief M. O Taiwo, Otunba Tola Odulaja, Otunba Segun Odusole and Prince Agbolade Oduyebo unanimously agreed that the Party seeks to consolidate its strength and present a formidable candidate for the position of Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government.
They said further updates and developments on the selection process will be communicated as the party continues its preparations for the forthcoming local government elections in the State.
