The Anti – kidnapping unit of the Ogun State Police Command has found the seven years old girl reported to have been kidnapped in Otta area of the state.
The girl said to be daughter of a Point -of-Sale operator was reportedly kidnapped by her mother’s customer few days.
The girl’s matter drew public awareness after the some officers expected to handle the case allegedly demanded money from her mother for the purpose of tracking the suspect’s phone number.
The public outcries that trailed the alleged demand for money forced the Police high command to arrest the officers involved in the alleged attempted extortion.
However, disclosing the rescue of the little girl, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Superintendent of Police (SP) Omolola Odutola in a brief notice on Sunday night, said all suspects involved in the alleged kidnapping of the minor have also been arrested.
She stated, “On a swift covert operation by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State Police Command CP Lanre Ogunlowo PhD.
“Ota missing girl was found in Ayetoro Ogun State, by Anti kidnapping team of Ogun State Police, and all suspects arrested.
“More details will be given tomorrow by CP Lanre Ogunlowo at a press briefing.”
