ABEOKUTA: Four persons have in auto accident that occurred at Alapako(Ogun State ) corridor of Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.
Chief Route Commander and
Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident on behalf of Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Command, CC Akinwumi Fasakin.
Okpe in a release on Sunday night, stated that the accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number FKJ570YE
She attributed the cause tol speed violation, and tyre burst which led to loss of control and further leading the vehicle to crash.
She stated, “The bus had a total of 13 passengers on transit. (05 Male Adults and 08 Female Adults) 04 persons were recorded death (02 Male Adults and 02 Female Adults) A total of 09 persons sustained injuries (03 Male Adults and 06 Female Adults) The injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, while the corpses were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.
“The suspected causes of the lone crash were speed violation, and tyre burst which led to loss of control and the vehicle crashed
“The Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Command, CC Akinwumi Fasakin, urged motorists to give full concentration to driving and also carry out some routine check on the vehicle to correct some defects. . He further advised motorists to maintain the required speed limits assigned to different categories of vehicles while using the roads. He enjoined all fleet operators to ensure the installation of speed limit device and be safety conscious. . He sympathized with the families of the deceased and wished the injured victims speedy recovery.”
