Former Manchester United forward player, Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr on a two-and-a-half year contract.
He signed $75m per year deal with the Saudi Arabian club.
Ronaldo became a free agent after Manchester United confirmed last month that his contract had been terminated.
In a tweet by Al-Nassr, it announced that: “The world’s greatest athlete — officially signed for Al-Nassr”. That was accompanied by a picture of Ronaldo holding up the club’s shirt. His contract will expire in summer 2025.
Ronaldo said: “I’m thrilled for a new experience in a different league and a different country, the vision that Al Nassr has is very inspiring.
“I’m very excited to join my teammates, and to help the team to achieve more success.”
The club added: “History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome Cristiano to your new home.”
Ronaldo’s departure from United — that the club said had been mutually agreed — came after he gave a controversial interview in which he criticised the club and the Glazer family, as well as saying he had “no respect” for manager Erik ten Hag.
The 37-year-old was benched for several games at the World Cup, including in Portugal’s quarter-final defeat to Morocco.
