The 2023 Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has officially begun yet another audacious attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
Baci, who shot herself to the national and global limelight in 2023 with record setting of the longest cooking marathon, on Friday began yet another record breaking event. She is hosting the “Gino Jollof Festival” in partnership with seasoning and culinary brand, Gino.
The milestone pulling cooking festival, features a custom-made pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall, a huge bowel into which 250 bags of rice will be cooked.
Moments before she lit her burners, the lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, Bolaji Idowu, prayed for Baci and blessed the efforts.
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele Jenifa was noticeable at the Hilda Baci’s world’s largest pot of Jollof outing, to cheer her and guests up.
Also, social media influencers including Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Folagade Banks, and Veekee James were also on ground to cheer chef Baci on.
As was the case in 2023, Baci’s Gino Jollof Festival has amassed a crowd of Gen Zs, millennials, food lovers, and celebrities at the venue in addition to those watching the streaming on social media from around the world.
Over 20,000 people have registered to attend the festival, which is free and open to the public even as the celebrity chef assured attendees that the meal will be “amazing and hygienic.”
It promises to be a record-breaking experience of Nigerian jollof rice.
