Two people have reportedly died following an inferno that swept through one of the buildings in the Opadoyin compound of ex – governor of Oyo state, late Adebayo Alao-Akala on Monday.
Valuables worth millions of naira also perished in the inferno which a source said, started around 7:50 am.
Witnesses attributed the likely cause to a power surge.
The Daily Crucible gathered that one of the victims died in the fire while the other gave up the ghost after he was rescued to Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso for medical attention.
Residents they woke up at about 8 am and noticed smoke from a part of the building but couldn’t immediately ascertain the cause.
However, political associates, friends, and family members of the late ex-governor are said to have been visiting the residence in commiseration with the family.
