The All Progressive Congress (APC) has affirmed the candidature of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, as the consensus candidate of the party for the 2026 governorship election in the State.
The motion was moved in Ado-Ekiti on Monday by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele. It was seconded by the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Stephen Aribasoye, through a processed conducted by the Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, the Chairman of Affirmation Congress committee.
Speaking after the affirmation, Ododo said it is a reflection of Oyebanji’s giant strides in various sectors which have benefitted the people of Ekiti.
He added that APC remains a party of discipline as shown in the trust that Ekiti residents have placed in the leadership and governance styles of Oyebanji.
