A – 29 -year old lady, Chioma Okafor, has landed in Police net for allegedly leading two – man robbery attack on a foodstuff shop in Mowe area of Ogun State.
The lady and her 19 – year – old accomplice, Nweke Joshua, it was learnt,
entered the shop pretending to buy food items but they soon pulled their guns and ordered the shop owner to hand over all money in his possession to them.
They were however arrested on Friday, November 25, 2022, by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command before they escape the scene.
The suspects were nabbed while carrying out the robbery operation with a at Adesan area of Mowe at about 9:30 pm.
The Mowe divisional police headquarters had received a distress call robbers had invaded a food stuff shop, owned by one Johnson Nwokoro at Safari Junction Adesan and dispossessed him of the day’s sales.
Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday stated that the DPO Mowe division, SP Folake Afeniforo, mobilised the division’s patrol team and the so safe corps men to the scene where the two suspects were arrested.
Oyeyemi, a Superintendent of Police (SP), further stated that it was discovered that they stormed the shop with toy guns which looked perfectly like original pistols.
He noted that during interrogation, the 19 – year old Nweke Joshua, informed the police that it was Chioma Okafor who sold the idea of carrying out the robbery operation tp him in order for them to have some money.
According to police spokesperson, suspect Nweke, it was Chioma who bought the toy guns used for the operation.
The suspects ran into trouble when the police and so safe corps men arrived the scene before they coul escape and apprehended them

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, had directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation.
