The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has attributed reasons for the downward trend in criminal offenses in the state partly to effective technology – driven policing.
Ogunlowo who disclosed this on Friday, July 11 during a live television appearance in Abeokuta studio of the National Standard Television (NSTV) Lagos, stressed that while crimes are reported daily in the state, the use of modern technology, and intelligence gathering and sharing are helping to achieve the desired results.
He also identified prompt attention and collaboration among security agencies as other factors working together to drive crime rate down in the Gateway State.
The Police Commissioner revealed that a technology app that will involve residents as participants in policing the state would soon be installed.
He acknowledged the past police authorities that had administered the state and built a good foundation for securing it.
He assured investors of a secure environment and appreciated the residents and other security agencies for their contributions to keeping the state safe.
